• 1970 - 1974 Employee in the Credit Department of Bayer. Hypo and exchange bank in Munich
• 1974 Election to the Bavarian Parliament

  • for many years during this time member of the Economic and Financial Committee, also freelance employee of Hypobank
  • Appointment by Franz Josef Strauß as State Secretary to the Bavarian State Government
  • 17 years as State Secretary, 14.5 years in the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs until the end of 2007
  • In between 3 years deputy club chairman of the CSU

• For many years member of the supervisory boards of Munich and Nuremberg airports, Messe Nürnberg, Bayerngas and Rhein-Main-Donau AG

• Since 2008 freelance business consultant and member of the supervisory boards of various companies
• From 2008 - 2016 honorary president of the German East Forum
• Since 2011 honorary president of the European Economic Forum in Bavaria
