Digitalisation and artificial intelligence (AI) are key levers for securing and expanding the competitiveness of Bavarian companies in a global environment. They enable higher productivity, faster innovation, more resilient supply chains and new data-based business models. For Bavarian SMEs in particular, automation, digital platforms and AI-supported processes offer great opportunities to cushion the effects of skills shortages and rising costs.
In order for companies to be able to exploit this potential, they are calling for better framework conditions: a powerful digital infrastructure (fibre optics, 5G/6G), simple digital administrative processes, innovation-friendly regulation, better access to data, strong AI support programmes, targeted training for the workforce and easier technology transfer should make it easier for SMEs in particular to get started.
For this to succeed, policymakers need to provide a powerful digital infrastructure, targeted support and financing programmes, and a strong foundation of digital and AI skills in the education and training system. Only through the interaction of corporate initiatives and reliable framework conditions can Bavaria expand its role as a leading AI and digital location internationally.
Following keynote speeches from politicians, expert speakers will report on examples from their companies.
