Co - DANUBE Project

 

Danube region on macro-regional level shows heterogeneity of the intensity of knowledge transfer from the scientific sector towards the exploiters, and significant obstacles for most of the Danube countries regarding the transformation of scientific results into commercial success. What has been seen as highly influencing reason are the poor cross-linkages among the R&D centers, Higher education and Research, national and regional pubic authorities, cluster and SMEs, business networks, NGOs and others, which are at the same time main target groups.  

 

Defining a sustainable model of cross-country cooperation - Value Network to support implementation of Open innovation concept in Danube Region represents sustainable solution which enables creation of cross-linkages on quadruple helix basis and improvement of framework conditions for R&D and innovation addressing the noticed needs in Danube region.


Project-related issues to be addressed, considering the identified territorial needs, are in particular long-term cooperation among clusters, R&D centers, the public sector, education and the users (quadruple helix) to foster technology transfer and broaden access to knowledge through set up of "Innovation lab" where representatives can invent together.

 

DANUBE project will provide a concrete answer to the issues described above, through implementation and development of Value Network Platform, Strategic framework and innovation policies which enable Open innovation and Advanced Manufacturing concept and finally, through thematic pilot actions and study visits which allow knowledge, know-how, experience and technology transfer, exchange and creation.

 

The Value Network represents an opportunity to integrate innovative capacities of all participants through collaboration platform, establishing and improving framework for research and innovation in Danube region.

Project main objective

Main objective of the project is the establishment of the Value Network that enables implementation of Open innovation concept based on quadruple helix in cross-cluster environment in the Danube region.

 

The setup of collaboration platform and networking of regional "Innovation cells" are improving conditions and the framework for creation of Danube Innovation lab, where employees, university staff, students, etc. can work together. Co-created innovations would allow realization of Advanced Manufacturing concept on cross-cluster level comprising energy efficiency and environmental technology.


Value Network as a new way of sustainable trans-national cooperation would improve knowledge transfer and innovation enhancement enabling to overcome challenges related to the commercialization of innovations.
It has significant impact on technological and non technological areas and learning interactions among Danube regions.

DANUBE project will provide a concrete answer to the issues described above, implementing and developing a Value Network, which enables Open innovation environment, based on the Advanced Manufacturing concept.

Project summary
